Acupuncture was developed in China centuries
ago. It utilizes more than 2,000 acupuncture points which connect
the surface of the body and internal organs via pathways called
meridians. It is generally believed that acupuncture, by stimulation
of the nerve receptors, transmits a signal to a particular level
of the central nervous system, which in turn influences the target
organ or area.
